Destiny Blue is a Visual Artist from Fayetteville NC whose paintings are based on promoting healing practices and highlighting the beauty of African American people. Destiny draws inspiration from a myriad of traditions, philosophies, and personal experiences that have shaped her understanding of the profound mysteries of life and her spirituality. These sources of wisdom have informed her creative process and infused her artwork with a sense of purpose and meaning. For Destiny, painting is a spiritual and healing practice. Her recent painting series, titled the "Goddess Series" works to debunk western Christianity and highlights the divine feminine and African goddesses. Destiny believes that only the divine feminine can heal what’s going on in the world right now. She is inspired by many black woman doing revolutionary and healing work within communities. Destiny earned her Master of Social Work degree from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke in 2022 minoring in Studio Art. She works as a child psychotherapist helping families and children toward overall wellness. Destiny is currently in a season of reclaiming her femininity, sexuality, and purpose through art.
